A caretaker cabinet finally announced by The Islamic Emirate

The Taliban, which occupied Kabul on August 15 in a thrust that eliminated the Western substantiated president, has been foreseen to announce a government since the US-led evacuation of foreign forces was completed at the end of August.

Finally, the Islamic Emirate decided to appoint and announce a caretaker cabinet to carry out the necessary government works.

Taliban ambassador Zabihullah Mujahid held a press conference in Kabul on September 7, 2021, when he disclosed the names of caretaker cabinet members supervising the country. Talking to the reporters,  at a news conference in Doha, Mujahid emphasized the cabinet was an “acting” government and that the group will “try to bring people from other parts of the country”. He called 33 members of “the new Islamic government” and said the residing posts will be declared openly after thorough consideration.

Head of government

The Taliban has nominated Mohammad Hasan Akhund, a closet assistant to the group’s deceased originator Mullah Omar, as head of Afghanistan’s new guardian government, after it took supervision of the region. In an announcement on Tuesday.Akhund is currently on a United Nations sanctions list. Authorizing from Kandahar, the motherland of the Taliban, Akhund was formerly the foreign minister and then deputy prime minister during the group’s last trip in power from 1996 to 2001.

Form of government

Akhunzada said that the fresh government will work towards upholding sharia law in Afghanistan. “I assure all the countrymen that the figures will work hard towards upholding Islamic rules and sharia law in the country,” Akhundzada said.

He assured his people the new administration would guarantee “lasting peace, prosperity and development”, putting in that “people should not try to leave the country”.

“The Islamic Emirate has no problem with anyone. All will take part in strengthening the system and Afghanistan and in this way, we will rebuild our war-torn country,” he added.

Caretaker Cabinet

The list of cabinet members announced by chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Tuesday was dominated by members of the group’s old guard, with no women included.

Abdul Ghani Baradar, the chief of the Taliban’s political bureau, will be the deputy leader. The Son of the founder of the Haqqani Network, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has been appointed as interior minister. The Haqqani network is restricted as a “terrorist” organization by the United States. He is one of the FBI’s most wanted men.

Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, son of Mullah Omar, has been nominated as defense minister. Hedayatullah Badri will be the acting minister of finance, while Amir Khan Muttaqi, a Taliban diplomat in Doha, was titled the foreign minister.

Reviewers Bashing the policy

Many people have things to say about the new form of government. Many accusations were made including the fact that no women were involved in the cabinet. The Taliban had guaranteed an “inclusive” parliament that embodies Afghanistan’s complex ethnic composition but women are unlikely to be included at the prime levels

As noticed, a lot of these names, the massive majority of them are entirely Pashtun and are not taking into consideration, arguably critics would say, the vast great ethnic diversity of this country.”

Critics accused that the quantity of time spent wasn’t on examining or reconciling inclusivity or potential power-sharing with other political parties. That time was spent on knowing how to split that pie amongst their positions
