Aselsan’s LGK-81 bomb hit the target in a joint attack involving Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci

Aselsan announced on social media that an LGK-81 bomb hit the target with accuracy during a night joint experimental test involving Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 and Akinci Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs).

The display of this coordinated attack by Baykar’s lethal drones and Aselsan’s LGK-81 bomb shows the capability of these drones in a multi-threat environment. During this attack, Akinci UCAV launched the Aselsan’s LGK-81 bomb and Bayraktar TB2 guided the bomb towards its target.

Pakistan Air Force has also announced its plans to procure Bayraktar TB2 & Akinci drones and this capability would be helpful for Pakistani armed forces as well. Pakistan received the first batch of TB2 drones last year and is now, set to receive the very first batch of Baykar’s Akinci Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV).

Aselsan gives the massive upgrade to the General purpose bomb by integrating Laser Guided Kit (LGK-81) into the bomb. Aselsan’s LGK-81 bomb can be carried by Akinci and Aksungur UCAVs as well as Turkish F-16s.
