Elbit Systems Affinity awarded $88 MN Contract for Training Aircraft of RAF

Elbit Systems announced that its UK joint venture with Kellog, Brown and Root Ltd, Affinity Flying Training Services Ltd, has been awarded an approximately $88 million contract by the UK Ministry of Defense to operate four additional Texan T-6C aircraft for the UK Military Flying Training System program.

The deal will be completed over the course of 12 years. Elbit Systems and KBR both own a 50% stake in Affinity and will share equally in the contract’s benefits.

Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK Ltd., said: “This contract attests to the level of satisfaction from the services and support provided by us in the UKMFTS program.”

We are proud to be an integral partner of the UK MOD in providing training solutions for the RAF and of the contribution to the pilots’ operational readiness and efficiency.” Fausset added.

The four extra Texan T-6C aircraft will be based at Affinity’s Royal Air Force Valley facility, where they will join the ten current Texans already in service.

The UKMFTS is a government-funded program that provides and supports RAF pilot training, procurement, operations, and maintenance.

Taking place at RAF Cranwell, RAF Barkston Heath, and RAF Valley on three different types of aircraft, Affinity has delivered over 20,000 flying hours for the UKMFTS program.
