Pyongyang launches another ballistic missile, possibly an SLBM

Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile toward the East Sea Tuesday morning, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said. Initial findings suggest that it’s a Submarine Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM).

The JCS said that “one unidentified ballistic missile” was launched at around 10:17 a.m. from the vicinity of North Korea’s eastern port city of Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province, toward the East Sea.

There is a possibility that the missile launch could be a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) based on the location it was fired from. A naval base is located in Sinpo.

American, Japanese, and South Korean Military officials are analyzing the range, altitude, and type of missile.
