Rotron Aerospace Ltd., a UK-based defence technology company specializing in propulsion systems and unmanned aviation platforms, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s leading defence corporation, LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd., to advance next-generation UAV propulsion and platform capabilities jointly.
The agreement, signed at Rotron’s headquarters in Dorset, marks a significant step toward strengthening cooperation in unmanned systems development and expanding export opportunities across global defence markets.

Under the multi-year MoU—effective until 2032—Rotron Aerospace and LIG Nex1 will collaborate on the Medium UAV Common Platform (MUCP) programme, follow-on variants, and future unmanned aviation projects.
The partnership aims to integrate Rotron’s advanced aero-propulsion systems with LIG Nex1’s proven expertise in system architecture, integration, and testing, creating a unified capability for next-generation unmanned platforms.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to accelerate development timelines, enhance their sovereign manufacturing capabilities, and position themselves competitively in the Korean, Pacific Rim, and broader global export markets.
