Russia says it has reasons to believe that the Russian service members who have been captured in Ukraine are not all right, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the chief of the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine and the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.
“Russia has every reason to believe that the service members of the Russian Armed Forces who are held as prisoners of war are not okay,” Mizintsev said.
“In addition, it has been reliably established that Russian service members are subjected to torture, violence, and intimidation, which in their inhumanity replicate the death squads’ actions during the Second World War, and all this is being widely published on the Internet and in the mass media. Regrettably, these outrageous facts remain unnoticed by the global community, including the UN, the OSCE, and the ICRC,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson indicated that Moscow reserves the right to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council shortly on the situation with Russian prisoners of war (POWs)
Russia has turned to the UN, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and other international organizations, and also to the leadership of Germany, France, and Turkey, the spokesperson said.
