The 13th edition of the Iraq Defense Exhibition (IQDEX 2025) officially opened today at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, reinforcing Iraq’s growing role as a hub for international defense engagement. Held under the patronage of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, IQDEX 2025 serves as a major platform for showcasing cutting-edge defense technologies and promoting global collaboration in the security domain.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, who formally opened the exhibition by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The Prime Minister visited several prominent exhibitors, including Airbus, Sarsilmaz, and Pakistan’s Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), receiving detailed briefings on their products and technologies.
This year’s edition sees the participation of 155 defense and security companies from 22 countries, including Belarus, China, Russia, Pakistan, India, Turkiye, and others. The exhibition features a wide range of military technologies—from armored vehicles and tactical equipment to UAVs, surveillance systems, and cyber defense solutions.
IQDEX 2025 will continue until April 22, providing a strategic platform for live product demonstrations, bilateral meetings, and defense industry dialogue. The event not only highlights Iraq’s defense modernization efforts but also underlines its commitment to fostering regional and international security cooperation.
