Iran's IRGC Conducts Naval Drills to Safeguard Persian Islands

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a naval drill on early Wednesday morning to safeguard the Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, with a special focus on Abu Musa Island. The drill, which involved dozens of ships and aircraft, was reportedly aimed at deterring any potential threats to Iran’s sovereignty in the region.

The drill took place in the waters around Abu Musa Island, which is jointly controlled by Iran and the United Arab Emirates. The island is strategically located at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, and its control is seen as important by both countries

The IRGC said that the drill involved a variety of exercises, including live-fire drills, anti-ship missile drills, and air defense drills. The drill also included the participation of drones and commandos.

The IRGC said that the drill was a “necessary measure” to protect Iran’s islands and its national security. The drill comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, and it is seen as a show of force by the IRGC.

The naval drill is the latest in a series of military exercises that Iran has conducted in recent months. In June, Iran conducted a large-scale military exercise in the Strait of Hormuz, which is a major shipping route.

The IRGC’s naval drill is a reminder of Iran’s military strength and its willingness to use force to protect its interests. The drill is also a sign of the growing tensions between Iran and the United States, and it raises the risk of a military conflict between the two countries.
