Turkiye’s leading defense company, STM, announced the first export contract for the ALPAGU kamikaze drone. STM also stated that the first batch of this loitering munition has been delivered to an undisclosed customer.
ALPAGU takes its name from an ancient Turkish word meaning “Brave man who attacks the enemy alone”, and this UAV weighs less than 2 kilograms. This UAV has a strike range of 10 kilograms and can fly for about 15 minutes after launch.
The system comprises three components, a fixed-wing attack UAV, a launcher, and a ground control station. Four ALPAGU kamikaze drones can attack the same target, which enhances its capability regarding saturation attacks.
