Poland announced the purchase of AGM-158B-2 JASSM-ER extended range Air-to-Surface missiles for the Polish Air Force from the United States, costing $677 million. The State Department had approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Poland of AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile with Extended Range All-Up-Rounds and related elements of logistics and program support for an estimated cost of $1.77 billion in March this year.

These missiles will significantly enhance Poland’s strike capability, compared to the currently deployed older version AGM-158 JASSMs on their F-16s. This procurement is a part of the wide-scale military upgrade by Poland amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
