Edge Group and the Brazilian Navy signed an agreement for the full development of the MANSUP Anti-Ship Missile till the end of 2025. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Edge Group in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, during the visit of the delegation of the Brazilian Navy.
Under the signed agreement, Edge Group and Brazil’s leading defense contractor, SIATT, will work together to ensure the smooth development process as well as the integration of the missile onto the Brazilian Navy’s new Tamandaré class of stealth frigates. The contract also provides the framework for EDGE Group to utilize the MANSUP technology and technical data in the development of the MANSUP-ER (extended range).
Rodrigo Torres, EDGE Group Chief Financial Officer, said: “This program not only strengthens the defense sectors of Brazil and the UAE but also, in collaboration with SIATT, promises benefits beyond missile development. They will lead to the establishment of new factories and create numerous job opportunities, fostering growth across the entire industrial base and economy. We are excited to advance our collaboration with the Brazilian and UAE Navies as we expand our family of missile systems and drive transformation within the defense industry.”
UAE’s Edge Group acquired 50% shares of the SIATT and continues enhancing the capabilities of the Brazilian Navy. UAE’s Ministry of Defense also plans to arm the Navy’s warships with the MANSUP-ER anti-ship missiles, which is the advanced variant of the MANSUP missile with extended range and enhanced navigation as well as accuracy.
SIATT also signed an agreement with the Edge Group in April, this year, regarding the technology transfer of the MANSUP anti-ship missile, which enabled the Edge Group to, upon payment of royalties, use, produce, market, and provide services, both domestically and internationally, for technologies related to MANSUP.
