Azerbaijan Air Force is now officially the fourth operator of JF-17 multi-role fighter aircraft. The office of Azerbaijan’s president confirmed in a statement.
On September 25, at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, was formally presented with JF-17C (Block-III) multirole fighter jets. These state-of-the-art, lightweight, all-weather aircraft, capable of operating in both day and night conditions, are the product of a collaboration between Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, and China’s Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation.

Defense Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board, Air Vice Marshal Hakim Raza provided details about the aircraft’s tactical and technical specifications, operational guidelines, and key performance indicators.
The JF-17C (Block-III) is a single-engine multi-role combat aircraft known for its air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, as well as its high maneuverability at medium and low altitudes, making it notable for its effective firepower. JF-17 Thunder aircraft will highly enhance the capabilities of Azerbaijan in various domains, including, air superiority, ground attack, and air defense.
