Pakistan Navy to Host AMAN 2025 Multinational Maritime Exercise in February, Next Year

The Pakistan Navy is set to host the AMAN-2025 multinational maritime exercise in February 2025. Along with the AMAN-2025 exercise, the Pakistan Navy is also organizing the maiden Naval Dialogue. Eight exercises have taken place, with the ninth scheduled for February 7–11, 2025. Over time, this exercise has evolved into a significant international naval event, as demonstrated by the increasing number of participants.

Growing worldwide involvement in AMAN over time demonstrates how much the world community values the Pakistan Navy’s efforts and contributions to promoting cooperative maritime security. Pakistan Navy also commanded Combined Maritime Task Forces CFT-150 & CFT-151, several times, which shows Pakistan Navy’s commitment towards maritime security and international peace.

It is expected that more than 50 countries will participate in the AMAN-2025 exercise, along with several heads of navies and coast guards will also attend the Naval Dialogue.

The major objectives of the AMAN-2025 maritime exercise include:

  1. Promote peace and regional cooperation.
  2. Enhance interoperability with regional and extra-regional navies thereby acting as a bridge between the regions.
  3. Display united resolve against terrorism and crimes in the maritime domain.

 

AMAN Dialogue objectives include:

  1. Promote a shared understanding of maritime security issues and challenges confronting the region and their linkages with the Blue Economy.
  2. Deliberate efficacy of existing mechanisms for maritime cooperation and the need to adopt innovative solutions to address evolving challenges at sea.
  3. Formulate suitable strategies to enhance maritime security d. Showcase the potential contribution of the Blue economy towards the overall economic growth of the country.
