NRTC Unveils Advanced Recce and Scout Vehicle (RSV)

At the IDEAS Expo, the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) unveiled its cutting-edge Recce and Scout Vehicle (RSV), specifically designed for forward-area observation, target acquisition, and fire correction. This advanced system is built on the highly maneuverable HIT Mohafiz-5 chassis, ensuring exceptional performance across diverse terrains.

At the heart of the RSV lies NRTC’s proprietary Command and Control (C2) software suite, known as the Observer C2 Suite. This software orchestrates the integration of a wide range of sensors and communication hardware through the Tactical Communication Controller and Integrator (TCCI) device. The TCCI serves as both the hardware and software backbone for seamless connectivity among the various components. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a highly accurate GPS positioning system to support precise navigation and target location.

The RSV’s sensor suite is a highlight of its capabilities:

  1. NB1 GSR Surveillance Radar: A multipurpose radar system leveraging advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) AESA technology. It is capable of detecting personnel, vehicles, and aircraft, offering comprehensive situational awareness.
  2. Forward Area Observation Device (FAOD): A mid-range electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor system with an integrated Laser Range Finder (LRF), ideal for detailed observation and target identification.
  3. Falcon Quadcopter: This surveillance drone is equipped with AI-enhanced technology, enabling precise target acquisition and fire control. Its aerial capabilities provide an extended observation range and operational flexibility upto 45min.

Complementing the sensor suite is an extensive array of communication hardware designed to maintain robust and reliable connectivity in operational environments. These include:

  • A High-Frequency Software-Defined Radio (HF SDR) for long-range communication.
  • Very/Ultra-High Frequency Software-Defined Radios (V/UHF SDR) for medium- and short-range communications.
  • The Eagle Eye Tactical Data Link, specifically designed for seamless UAV communication, enabling real-time data sharing and coordination, acting a mini tactical data link.

Additionally a optional dismounted unit with a man-portable FAOD-2  device can be used coupled to a dismounted SDR Radio set for further versatility.
