AMAN 2025: Strengthening Maritime Cooperation

Since its inception in 2007, the AMAN exercise series has evolved into a key platform for international naval collaboration, focusing on interoperability, maritime security, and countering shared threats such as piracy, smuggling, and terrorism.

Exercise Phases:

  1. Harbor Phase (Karachi): Involved strategic discussions, operational briefings, and joint planning sessions to enhance coordination among participating navies.
  2. Sea Phase (Arabian Sea): Featured live maritime interdiction operations, anti-piracy drills, SAR exercises, and fleet coordination maneuvers to enhance practical collaboration at sea.

AMAN Dialogue: A Strategic Forum for Regional Maritime Security

A key highlight of AMAN 2025 was the AMAN Dialogue, a high-level forum for discussions on regional maritime security, multilateral naval cooperation, and shared challenges in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Naval officials, defense strategists, and maritime experts deliberated on safeguarding global trade routes, ensuring freedom of navigation, and addressing emerging maritime threats.

The Iranian delegation reaffirmed its commitment to regional maritime stability, emphasizing the role of cooperative naval engagements in building trust and enhancing security in the Persian Gulf and beyond. Iran’s participation in AMAN 2025 underscored its interest in constructive naval diplomacy and multilateral security cooperation to address global maritime challenges.
