Abu Dhabi, UAE – EDGE Group, a leading global advanced technology and defense powerhouse, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GM Defense to explore opportunities in light tactical vehicle development for customers across the Middle East, Africa, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
The agreement, announced at the International Defense Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, brings together EDGE’s subsidiary, NIMR Automotive, and GM Defense, a subsidiary of General Motors. The MoU signing was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including U.S. Ambassador to the UAE Martina A. Strong, Jack Uppal, President of GM Africa & Middle East, and Abri du Plessis, CEO of NIMR.

Khaled Al Zaabi, President – Platforms & Systems at EDGE Group, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating:

Attendees at IDEX 2025 can experience GM Defense’s Infantry Utility Vehicle at EDGE’s outdoor stand CP-270. Additional technologies from EDGE and its portfolio companies are showcased at stand C20 in Hall 5, while GM Defense’s latest innovations can be seen at booth 03-AO9 in Hall 3.
