EDGE and AYYAZILIM Sign MoU to Develop Next Generation Unmanned Fighting Vehicles

AL TAIF, an EDGE Group entity and a premier provider of lifecycle support services for military land platforms in the UAE, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AYYAZILIM, a globally recognized leader in systems engineering and vetronics. The collaboration aims to convert a commercial off-road vehicle into a cutting-edge Light Robotic Combat Vehicle (LRCV), enhancing autonomous combat capabilities.

The agreement was signed at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2025 by AL TAIF CEO Rashed Al Kaabi and AYYAZILIM CEO Atilla Yenidogan. Under the partnership, AYYAZILIM will oversee the full spectrum of electronic systems integration for the LRCV, including electrical networks, communication systems, sensors, navigation, control systems, and safety mechanisms. The project aims to enhance operational effectiveness in modern combat scenarios.

Commenting on the collaboration, Rashed Al Kaabi said: “Partnering with AYYAZILIM represents a major leap forward in unmanned combat vehicle technology. By integrating state-of-the-art electronic systems, we are ensuring that the UAE remains at the forefront of defense innovation.”

Beyond the LRCV development, the partnership extends to providing maintenance and fabrication of electronic subcomponents, reinforcing the UAE’s defense ecosystem with cutting-edge technology and innovation.

Attendees of IDEX 2025 can explore the latest defense solutions at the EDGE stand C20 in Hall 5 and the outdoor stand CP-270 at ADNEC until 21 February 2025.
