Turkiye’s leading defense contractor, Meteksan Defense, has entered into an agreement with the UAE’s defense and technology conglomerate, EDGE, to integrate its Milsar Radar onto EDGE’s Garmoosha unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This collaboration enhances the Garmoosha UAV’s surveillance capabilities, making it more competitive in the global defense market. The agreement was signed today at the ongoing International Defence Exhibition & Conference 2025 (IDEX 2025).
The Milsar radar is a compact, advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system developed by Meteksan Defense, a defense technology company based in Turkiye. It is designed for use on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft, providing high-resolution radar imaging and ground-moving target indication (GMTI) capabilities.
The Garmoosha is a Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft with a flight endurance of 8 hours. It has a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 540kg, a payload capacity of 120kg, and can reach a maximum speed of 150km/h.
