Pakistan Establishes Army Rocket Force Command to Enhance Precision Strike Capabilities

Pakistan has established the Army Rocket Force Command, a dedicated formation to enhance the country’s precision strike capabilities and modernize its conventional missile forces. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the initiative during the Independence Day celebrations at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, marking a major milestone in the nation’s defense modernization efforts.

Conventional Missile and GMLRS Focus

The newly created Command will focus exclusively on conventional missile systems and Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS). Its arsenal will include Ballistic Missiles, Cruise Missiles, and emerging Hypersonic Missile technologies, all integrated under a unified operational framework to ensure rapid, accurate, and high-impact engagements against strategically significant targets.

Fatah-4 and Future Developments

The newly unveiled Fatah-4 missile has been inducted into the Army Rocket Force Command, significantly boosting Pakistan’s long-range precision strike capability. Defense officials have indicated that additional variants of the Fatah series are in development and are expected to join the arsenal in the coming years, further enhancing operational flexibility and strike options.

Enhanced Operational Capabilities

Military sources confirm that the Command will feature advanced Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) integration for real-time targeting and superior operational effectiveness. The structure will include mobile missile brigades, hardened launch facilities, and specialized logistical networks, ensuring sustained readiness even in contested environments.

Strategic and Doctrinal Significance

Defense analysts view the creation of the Army Rocket Force Command as a strategic and doctrinal leap, bringing Pakistan in line with other global powers that maintain dedicated missile forces. The move signals a doctrinal shift from broad conventional deterrence to a precision strike–focused approach, aimed at safeguarding national security and maintaining strategic balance in South Asia.
