The U.S. State Department has approved a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of Bahrain for the purchase of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and related equipment, with an estimated value of $500 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of the deal.
Under the request, Bahrain will acquire:

Facilities and construction assistance

Publications and technical documentation

Personnel training and training equipment

U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support

According to the DSCA, the sale will enhance Bahrain’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing a highly mobile and precise long-range strike capability. The M142 HIMARS is a proven system used by U.S. and allied forces worldwide for both deterrence and rapid response operations.
