The Pakistan Army successfully conducted the training launch of the newly inducted indigenously developed Fatah-4 Ground Launched Cruise Missile (GLCM), marking a significant advancement in the country’s conventional missile capabilities.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Fatah-4 demonstrated its strike capability at a range of 750 kilometers. Equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, the missile is designed with terrain-hugging features, enabling it to evade hostile missile defense systems and accurately engage targets with high precision.
Strengthening the Army Rocket Force Command
The Fatah-4 has been formally inducted into the Army Rocket Force Command, significantly enhancing the reach, lethality, and survivability of the Pakistan Army’s missile systems. This latest addition reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on strengthening indigenous defense production to ensure national security and strategic deterrence.
High-Level Attendance and Recognition
The training launch was witnessed by the Chief of General Staff, senior officers from the armed forces, as well as dedicated scientists and engineers involved in the missile’s development.
In recognition of the successful launch, the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the Services Chiefs extended their congratulations to the participating troops, scientists, and engineers for their contribution to advancing Pakistan’s defense capabilities.
Strategic Significance
The successful test of the Fatah-4 not only demonstrates Pakistan’s technological progress in missile development but also strengthens its conventional deterrence posture. The system is expected to play a critical role in modernizing Pakistan’s missile arsenal and enhancing operational readiness in response to emerging regional security challenges.
