Pakistan Navy has announced the successful flight test of an indigenously developed ship-launched Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile (ASBM), further expanding the country’s long-range maritime strike capability. The development was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations, Pakistan Navy (DPR-PN).
According to the press release, the missile is designed to engage both sea and land targets with high accuracy. The system incorporates an advanced guidance package and high maneuverability, allowing it to perform in demanding maritime conditions and contested environments.
The test was witnessed by the Chief of the Naval Staff, alongside senior naval officers, scientists, and engineers involved in Pakistan’s missile programme. Officials noted that the successful trial underlined Pakistan’s progress in strengthening indigenous defence production and operational readiness.
Builds on a Series of Pakistan Navy Missile Tests
The latest test follows several earlier missile trials conducted by Pakistan Navy in recent years, including tests of land-attack cruise missiles, anti-ship weapons, and coastal defence systems. Together, these trials reflect a steady pattern of capability enhancement aimed at improving maritime deterrence, response flexibility, and long-range strike options across the Arabian Sea.
