Pakistan’s state-owned defence producer, Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), is set to present its full portfolio of advanced military technologies at the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) 2025. This year’s participation marks a major milestone as GIDS prepares the first-ever public display of the Fatah Series missile in the MENA region, following its successful employment during Operation Bunya Um Marsoos.

ToggleFatah Series Makes Regional Debut: Featuring Fatah-1 and Fatah-2 GMLRS
The centrepiece of the GIDS pavilion at EDEX 2025 will be the Fatah Series, Pakistan’s family of precision-guided, surface-to-surface guided artillery rockets (GMLRS).
Fatah-1 GMLRS
The Fatah-1 is a high-precision Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System with a range of approximately 140 km. Designed for deep-strike missions, it uses an inertial navigation system (INS) with GPS guidance, enabling accurate engagement of high-value targets such as command centres, logistics hubs, and air defence nodes.
Its rapid launch capability, mobility, and precision make it suitable for both offensive counterforce missions and defensive deterrence roles.
Fatah-2 GMLRS
The more recent Fatah-2 extends Pakistan’s range envelope to approximately 250–290 km, while maintaining high accuracy through an improved guidance package. It is designed to deliver precise strikes with minimal time-to-target, allowing commanders to engage strategic objectives far beyond traditional artillery ranges.
Both systems demonstrated operational effectiveness during Operation Bunya Um Marsoos, where their accuracy, responsiveness, and reliability were widely noted. Their debut at EDEX 2025 will mark the first time MENA defence delegations can view the Fatah Series in person, highlighting Pakistan’s growing technological maturity in advanced rocket and missile development.
GIDS to Present a Comprehensive Portfolio of Defence Solutions
GIDS’ presence at EDEX 2025 will include a wide range of systems designed for modern multi-domain operations, including:
-
Precision-guided munitions
-
UAVs and counter-UAV technologies
-
Surveillance, reconnaissance, and electro-optical systems
-
Air and ground combat support solutions
-
Naval warfare and communication systems
The showcasing aligns with GIDS’ broader goal to expand its partnerships across the Middle East, North Africa, and international defence markets.
Growing Strategic Engagement Across the Region
EDEX 2025 is set to welcome delegations from across the MENA region, Africa, Europe, and Asia. GIDS aims to leverage the platform to strengthen cooperation, expand exports, and highlight Pakistan’s capability to deliver advanced, indigenous defence technologies.
With the Fatah Series making its first regional appearance, GIDS’ participation signals a significant step forward in Pakistan’s defence industry outreach—underscoring both technological maturity and rising global demand for precision missile systems.
