Shaheen-III Medium Range Ballistic Missile: Pakistan’s effort to target last corner of India

Shaheen-III is a two-stage, solid-fueled and medium-range ballistic missile capable of striking it’s target at a range of 2750 kilometers. This missile can carry a nuclear warhead as well as a conventional one. It was first publicly displayed during a military parade in March 2016 on the occasion of independence day parade. The Shaheen 3 is road-mobile and reportedly mounted on a Chinese transporter erector launcher.

Range of Shaheen-III is stated as 2750 kilometers which enables this missile to target Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal.

 

Latest test of this missile was conducted on 21th January, 2021, by Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC). According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), “The test flight was aimed at re-validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system.”
