Air Côte d’Ivoire Takes Delivery of Its First Airbus A330neo, Marking a New Era in West African Aviation

Air Côte d’Ivoire, the national airline of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, has officially received its first Airbus A330-900, becoming the latest operator of Airbus’s next-generation widebody aircraft. This milestone represents a significant step in the carrier’s growth strategy and positions it as a regional leader in modern aviation.

First Widebody Aircraft for Air Côte d’Ivoire

The Airbus A330neo is the first widebody aircraft to join Air Côte d’Ivoire’s fleet. Configured with a four-class cabin layout, the aircraft offers:

  • 4 seats in First Class

  • 44 seats in Business Class

  • 21 seats in Premium Economy

  • 173 seats in Economy Class

With this delivery, Air Côte d’Ivoire aims to strengthen its connectivity across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Initial long-haul routes will begin with Paris, followed by additional destinations to further expand the airline’s global footprint.

Humanitarian Delivery with Airbus Foundation

The inaugural delivery flight from Toulouse to Abidjan carried five tonnes of humanitarian aid, including school supplies and health materials. Coordinated with the Airbus Foundation and supported by Aviation Sans Frontières, the aid was distributed to local NGOs, LifeShine and la Bienfaisance, directly benefiting community projects in education and healthcare. This marks Air Côte d’Ivoire’s third goodwill mission in partnership with Airbus.

Enhanced Passenger Experience with Airspace Cabin

The A330neo comes equipped with Airbus’s award-winning Airspace cabin, providing:

  • Enlarged overhead bins

  • More personal space

  • Advanced lighting system

  • State-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and connectivity

The aircraft can also operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), reflecting Airbus’s commitment to achieving 100% SAF capability by 2030.

Airbus A330neo Global Success

As of July 2025, the Airbus A330 Family has secured more than 1,920 firm orders from over 130 customers worldwide. The delivery to Air Côte d’Ivoire underscores Airbus’s expanding footprint in Africa and supports the continent’s ambition for modern, fuel-efficient aviation solutions.
