GÖKSUR 100-N Point Defense Missile System

Turkiye’s leading defense contractor, Aselsan, unveiled the GÖKSUR Point Defense Missile System (PDMS) during the EURONAVAL 2024, one of the biggest international naval defense shows in the world, happening from November 4-7 in Paris, France.

The upgraded variant, GÖKSUR 100-N, has twenty missiles carried by the launcher; it thereby significantly increases the defensive capability of the ship. This system features GÖKSUR IIR (Imaging Infra-Red) missile. It is an IIR-guided missile developed for air-to-air combat and is now adapted for naval defense. With its enhanced missile capacity, GÖKSUR 100-N offers greater operational flexibility and improves the vessel’s situational awareness.

GÖKSUR 100-N comes in various configurations, which provides flexibility to the client. Both configurations include GÖKSUR 100-N VLS (flexible and modular Vertical Launcher System) and GÖKSUR 100-N/StA (turret with the ability to operate stand-alone).

It is expected the ships being designed and manufactured by other Turkish companies, STM, and ASFAT, will be equipped with this new point defense missile system of the Aselsan.

Aselsan also showcased several other systems at the EuroNaval 2024, including GÖKDENİZ Close-in Weapon System, MARLİN Unmanned Surface Vehicle, DÜFAS Low-Frequency Active Sonar System, and DERİNGÖZ Autonomous Underwater Vehicle.

ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol evaluated the company’s participation in EURONAVAL 2024: “As ASELSAN, we are excited to showcase our expertise and innovative solutions in the naval domain at EURONAVAL and to introduce the new version of our GÖKSUR Point Defense Missile System. As a global defense company, we are committed to strengthening our presence in the naval domain by developing best-in-class products and expanding our global presence. We see EURONAVAL as a key opportunity to enhance existing partnerships and explore new collaborations with potential partners worldwide.”
