Turkish aerospace firm, Baykar, emerged as the leading arms exporter in 2022 with sales of USD$1.76 million, Haluk Görgün, the head of Türkiye’s Defense Industry Agency (SBB), announced. Baykar is the manufacturer of the globally renowned Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), which is the modern option for militaries against counter-terrorism efforts and actively plays a major role in various parts of the world, including Pakistan, Mali, Somalia and Türkiye.
Other than Bayraktar TB2 UCAV, Baykar manufactured Akinci UCAV, which was successfully exported to Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and Libya. Baykar is also working on Bayraktar TB3 UAV, with foldable wings and jet-powered Kızılelma UAV.
