Brazilian Navy Signs Strategic Missile Contract with SIATT for MANSUP System Backed by EDGE Group

The Brazilian Navy has signed a major contract with SIATT for the supply of the MANSUP (National Surface-Launched Anti-Ship Missile), which will be integrated into the new Tamandaré-class frigates. Developed with national technology and supported by the EDGE Group of the UAE, the agreement marks a significant step in strengthening Brazil’s naval capabilities and technological independence.

Strategic Delivery for the Brazilian Navy

The signing ceremony took place at the Navy’s General Directorate of Material in Rio de Janeiro, with the participation of senior naval officials, including Admiral Edgar Luiz Siqueira Barbosa and Vice Admirals Amaury Calheiros Boite Junior and Carlos Henrique de Lima Zampieri. SIATT executives Rogério Salvador (CEO) and Azhaury Cunha Filho (Chairman of the Board), along with EDGE Group’s Rodrigo Torres (CFO) and Tiago Silva (CEO for Latin America), also attended the event.

Enhancing Maritime Deterrence with National Technology

The MANSUP missile will equip the Tamandaré Class Frigates and is designed to bolster the Navy’s ability to secure Brazil’s strategic maritime domain, especially the Blue Amazon, which encompasses the country’s territorial waters, continental shelf, and exclusive economic zone.

Vice Admiral Zampieri emphasized the importance of the system:

“The integration of MANSUP with the Tamandaré Class Frigates will reinforce the Navy’s ability to protect strategic maritime areas.”

SIATT Solidifies Its Role in the Missile Industry

SIATT CEO Rogério Salvador noted the broader significance of the contract:

“This agreement confirms confidence in the missile’s potential and in SIATT’s ability to deliver advanced and reliable systems. It positions SIATT as a national reference in the production of complex missiles.”

The MANSUP program, funded jointly by the Brazilian Navy, SIATT, and EDGE Group, is the result of years of domestic development. The system strengthens Brazil’s deterrence posture while reducing dependence on foreign missile technologies.

EDGE Group Expands Strategic Cooperation in Latin America

EDGE Group’s involvement underscores growing industrial and strategic ties between Brazil and the UAE. As a global leader in advanced defense systems, EDGE contributes funding, international experience, and access to broader export markets.

Founded in 2019, EDGE consolidates over 35 defense and technology companies across five domains: Platforms and Systems, Missiles and Armaments, Space and Cyber, Trade and Mission Support, and Homeland Security.

Toward Sovereign Defense Capability

The MANSUP agreement highlights Brazil’s focus on sovereign defense solutions. It demonstrates the country’s capacity to design, develop, and produce advanced weapon systems domestically—positioning Brazil as a rising power in the global defense industry.
