Hanwha is set to Showcase Advanced Defense Capabilities at IDEX 2025

Hanwha, South Korea’s leading aerospace and defense contractor, is set to showcase its latest military innovations at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025, held at the ADNEC Exhibition Center from February 17-21. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and African defense markets with a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge land, sea, and aerospace systems.

Hanwha Aerospace will unveil the K9A1 Self-Propelled Howitzer, now fitted with a domestically developed 1,000-horsepower engine, extensively tested in multiple environments. Additionally, the Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (L-SAM) system will be a key highlight, offering a next-generation air defense solution interoperable with existing missile defense systems like the M-SAM and PAC-3. The L-SAM is set for mass production this year for the Republic of Korea Air Force, while an advanced L-SAM II variant is under development for completion by 2028.

Hanwha Systems will showcase its Multi-Function Radar (MFR), capable of tracking high-altitude ballistic missiles and aircraft, alongside a small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite designed for Earth observation, environmental monitoring, and disaster response.

Hanwha will also present a wide range of advanced military solutions, including:

  • Chunmoo MRLS – A precision-guided multiple rocket launcher capable of engaging targets beyond enemy artillery range.
  • Redback IFV – A next-generation infantry fighting vehicle with advanced protection systems, selected for Australia’s LAND 400 Phase 3 program.
  • TIGON IFV & Tank Destroyer – An 8×8 armored vehicle with diverse weapon configurations, including an anti-tank guided missile launcher for long-range strike capability.
  • TAipers ATGM – A fifth-generation anti-tank guided missile with fire-and-forget and non-line-of-sight capabilities.
  • H-SHORAD – A hybrid short-range air defense system featuring a gun-missile combination for countering UAVs and aerial threats.
  • Anti-Drone System – A multi-layered solution integrating jammers, capture mechanisms, and lasers to neutralize small UAV threats.
