HAVELSAN, a leading Turkish defense technology company, is enhancing its ADVENT Combat Management System with a new layer of national artificial intelligence capabilities. The integration of HAVELSAN’s Corporate Artificial Intelligence Platform (MAIN) aims to improve real-time decision-making, maintenance efficiency, and operational readiness for the Turkish Naval Forces and allied fleets.
ADVENT is developed in cooperation with the Naval Research Center Command. It is already deployed in nine countries, offering advanced interoperability for joint and multinational naval task forces. Moreover, it is designed to manage complex modern naval operations, the system provides commanders with a comprehensive, real-time operational picture and supports coordinated action across platforms.
AI-Powered Maintenance and Support
MAIN is HAVELSAN’s enterprise-grade AI platform, featuring a proprietary language architecture. It operates in secure closed networks or online environments, supports role-based access control, and ensures data privacy. Furthermore, its intuitive interface is built to streamline decision-making in high-pressure situations.
In its initial application within ADVENT, MAIN is functioning as a Maintenance Support Assistant. This role includes:
- Guiding operators through maintenance procedures
- Locating and displaying relevant technical documentation
- Providing system-wide Q&A support
- Enhancing safety through natural language interaction
Following successful Phase 1 testing in a laboratory environment, Phase 2 integration is underway across operational systems. Additionally, MAIN will also assist commanders with real-time decision support during missions.
Advancing Decision-Making in Naval Operations
The integration of MAIN into ADVENT will expand AI-driven capabilities across several mission-critical areas:
- Threat identification and classification
- Anomaly detection for equipment and systems
- Navigation safety enhancements
- Situational awareness improvements
- Intelligent simulation and training support
HAVELSAN’s goal is to combine the speed and precision of AI with human oversight to optimize operational performance and readiness.
By embedding AI into the heart of naval command and control systems, HAVELSAN is reinforcing Türkiye’s position as a leader in defense innovation. Therefore, the company expects that MAIN’s integration will improve current fleet performance. This move will also set a foundation for the next generation of autonomous and semi-autonomous naval operations.
