HAVELSAN's Barkan UGV Launches Kamikaze UAV

Havelsan’s Barkan Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) achieved another milestone by launching a Kamikaze drone during trials in coordination with another defense firm, Gurbag Defense. Havelsan fired this Kamikaze munition from a Barkan 2 UGV, Which is an upgraded variant of Bakran 1 UGV.

Gurbag Defense’s Kamikaze drone has a range of 15 kilometers, which will definitely enhance the range of Barkan 2 UGV. Previously, Barkan 1 UGV also fired Roketsan’s METE laser-guided mini-missile which was its target successfully. Barkan UGV is part of Havelsan’s digital troops concept.

Digital Troops is a concept where unmanned systems and soldiers can work together on battlefields. The battlefields of the future will have an important place in terms of being areas where soldiers and robots exist together.
