Indra Group and EDGE Sign MoU to Expand PULSE NOVA Into Advanced Electronic Warfare Capabilities

Indra Group and EDGE have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore expanding their joint venture, PULSE NOVA, into advanced electronic warfare (EW) capabilities. The agreement aims to build on the successful development of next-generation radar systems and position PULSE NOVA as a leading provider of integrated radar and EW solutions for regional and international markets.

Under the MoU, Indra and EDGE, through its radar and electronic warfare subsidiary SIGN4L, will assess how PULSE NOVA can evolve from a radar-focused entity into a broader mission-systems platform. The discussions will focus on combining Indra’s global expertise in defence electronics with EDGE’s growing portfolio of technologies developed in the UAE.

Expansion of Current Radar Partnership

PULSE NOVA was originally established to design and manufacture next-generation radar systems in the UAE. The new initiative seeks to extend this work by integrating electronic warfare technologies, enabling the joint venture to support more complex defence requirements. Both companies say the potential expansion reflects the strong results achieved since the joint venture’s launch and the complementary strengths they bring to the partnership.

Ángel Escribano, Executive President of Indra Group, stated that broadening the joint venture’s scope would help create a competitive global player in radar and electronic warfare technologies. Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos added that the proposal builds on the successful collaboration model already in place, combining engineering expertise, technology transfer, and expanded commercial reach.

EDGE and Indra Target New Global Markets

EDGE Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar highlighted that the joint venture has already delivered meaningful progress in radar development. He noted that electronic warfare requires a high level of specialized capability, and combining the strengths of both companies could produce a more competitive and scalable mission-systems portfolio.

The collaboration continues to target global market expansion, including non-NATO regions outside the European Union—areas where both companies see significant demand for modern radar and EW technologies. EDGE contributes its commercial reach and technology foundations, while Indra adds engineering, manufacturing, and technology-transfer capabilities.

Strategic Positioning of PULSE NOVA

The potential expansion of PULSE NOVA aligns with a broader industry trend of integrating radar, sensors, and electronic warfare systems into unified mission platforms. By combining the technical and commercial strengths of Indra Group and EDGE, the joint venture aims to strengthen its role in the development of advanced mission systems designed for land, sea, air, and electronic domains.
