Jordan’s King Abdullah II Reviews Pakistan’s Indigenous Defence Capabilities at GIDS

His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, paid an official visit to Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) on Saturday. He was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Salma bint Abdullah II and a delegation of senior Jordanian civil and military officials.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, along with senior leadership of Pakistan’s defence establishment, received the Jordanian monarch and his entourage at the venue.

During the visit, King Abdullah II was briefed on GIDS’ organizational framework, manufacturing capabilities, and indigenous product portfolio. The presentation highlighted Pakistan’s advancements in local defence production, ongoing technological innovation, and the growing export potential of its defence industry.

Officials from both sides also discussed prospective avenues for enhanced defence collaboration between Pakistan and Jordan, with a focus on joint development, technology sharing, and long-term strategic cooperation.

The visit is seen as a significant step in strengthening defence ties and expanding military-to-military engagement between the two countries.
