The Russian state-owned defense contractor, Kalashnikov, is set to showcase its latest technological advancement, the “KUB-2-E” loitering munitions, for the first time at the IDEX 2025 international defense exhibition. Taking place from February 17 to 21 in Abu Dhabi, this highly anticipated debut highlights a significant leap in modern battlefield capabilities.
The “KUB-2-E” is a collaborative effort between JSC Kalashnikov Concern and the Izhevsk Unmanned Systems Scientific and Production Association (NPO Izhevsk Unmanned Systems). This state-of-the-art system is tailored to meet diverse operational needs, with its small and medium-class variants designed for precision and adaptability.
The small-class “KUB-2-E” targets individual personnel and unarmored vehicles, delivering precision strikes in complex combat environments. Meanwhile, the medium-class variant broadens the scope, enabling strikes on enemy troops, UAV launch platforms, helicopter staging areas, and both unarmored and lightly armored vehicles.
IDEX 2025 is expected to attract global defense industry leaders, providing a premier platform for Kalashnikov to demonstrate its commitment to cutting-edge solutions. With introducing the “KUB-2-E,” the company solidifies its position at the forefront of technological innovation in loitering munitions.
