Naval Group and PGZ Sign Industrial Cooperation Agreement to Boost Naval Manufacturing

France’s Naval Group and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ S.A.) have signed an Industrial Cooperation Agreement (ICA) aimed at strengthening defense manufacturing ties between France and Poland. The agreement focuses on advanced shipbuilding, including the construction of submarines and other specialized naval vessels.

Strengthening France–Poland Defense Partnership

The ICA marks a major milestone in the growing strategic partnership between the two nations, building on the Treaty on Enhanced Cooperation and Friendship signed in Nancy on May 9, 2025. By integrating Polish defense companies such as PGZ Stocznia Wojenna (PGZ S.W.) into Naval Group’s supply chain, the deal enhances Europe’s naval industrial base and contributes to long-term defense cooperation.

Industrial and Technological Benefits

According to Marie-Laure Bourgeois, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Naval Group, the agreement reflects “a shared ambition to develop a strong, sovereign, and future-ready naval industrial base in Poland.” She emphasized that this cooperation ensures long-term benefits for both countries.

Jan Grabowski, Vice President of PGZ S.A., highlighted that Naval Group’s expertise in advanced surface and submarine platforms will expand Poland’s domestic production capacity and provide critical technology transfer. He added that the partnership is another step toward deepening Poland’s role in European maritime security.

Naval Group’s Role in European Naval Defense

Naval Group is a leading global player in naval defense, with expertise ranging from submarine and surface vessel design to integration of autonomous systems, underwater weapons, and drones. With revenues of €4.35 billion in 2024 and a workforce of more than 16,700 employees, the group is actively expanding strategic partnerships across Europe.
