Naval Group is making a significant appearance at DEFEA 2025, the premier defense exhibition held in Athens from May 6 to 8, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence. As a key partner of the event, the French naval giant is showcasing a comprehensive portfolio of modern warships, unmanned systems, and defense technologies aimed at strengthening the Hellenic Navy.
This year’s exhibition marks important milestones in the ongoing FDI (Frégate de Défense et d’Intervention) program, with the first Hellenic Navy frigate scheduled for sea trials before summer and delivery by the end of 2025. Naval Group’s presence underscores the deepening French-Greek industrial collaboration, spotlighting over 120 contracts signed with more than 60 Greek companies since 2022.
Deepening Industrial Cooperation with Greece
Naval Group’s long-term strategy in Greece has led to the establishment of Naval Group Hellas in Athens in 2023, staffed mainly by Greek engineers and technicians. The subsidiary plays a pivotal role in R&D projects, in collaboration with leading Greek universities and research institutions such as NTUA, the University of Patras, and the Hellenic Naval Academy.
Highlighting this collaboration, Naval Group is set to sign new partnership agreements at its booth (Hall 2, 2D12) during DEFEA 2025. The initiative aims to further integrate Greek industry into Naval Group’s global supply chain, enhancing Greece’s position in the global naval defense market.
