EDGE Group entity Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), a regional leader in naval and commercial vessel construction, has officially commissioned the ALTAF missile boat, the first-of-class in the FALAJ3 programme, into service. The milestone ceremony took place at NAVDEX 2025, attended by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Staff Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, EDGE Group leadership, UAE Navy officials, and distinguished dignitaries.
Khaled Al Zaabi, President – Platforms & Systems, EDGE, and Chairman of ADSB, hailed the commissioning as a testament to the UAE’s leadership in advanced naval capabilities, reinforcing sovereign shipbuilding expertise. ADSB CEO David Massey emphasized the strategic significance of successfully delivering the 62-metre missile boat, marking a major leap in the UAE’s maritime defense sector.
Designed and built entirely in the UAE, ALTAF represents a key milestone in ADSB’s commitment to national shipbuilding excellence, setting a new benchmark in naval innovation.
