After the October 7 attacks, Israel waged a genocide on the already oppressed population of Palestine. U.S who is always there for Israel stated in clear words that they will support Israel and give their arms to them no matter what. As on the other hand, UN Security Council called an immediate meeting to discuss about the ongoing genocide, the members were concerned about the safety of people in Israel and Palestine, but no member came to unanimity statement. In first month approximately 10,000 Palestinian and 1,300 Israelis were killed.
Benjamin Netanyahu who is the chair leader of Likud party and is serving as Prime Minister of Israel since 2022.He is the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of Israel.He served as Prime Minister total of 16 years. While Likud party was founded in 1973 and is a major right-wing political party in Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu has always had oppressive policies towards the innocent Palestinians, and he is now attacking Gaza and killing innocent children, women and adults destroying their hospitals, residential buildings, education institutions, commercial areas, neighborhoods and fields.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) and U.N top court commanded Israel to stop their military operation in Rafah which is situated in the south of Gaza, where displaced 1.5 million refuges took place. An Inter-government organization and tribunal known as International Criminal Court (ICJ), issued arrest warrant for who did crimes a lot against humanity and killed many innocent Palestinian (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of defense Yoav Gallant). ICJ also issued arrest warrant for the leaders of Hamas Yahya Sinwar, Mohammad Deif and Ismail Haniyeh.
More than one million Palestinian was ordered by IDF to evacuate from North Gaza, so that they can start ground operation. The ground operation ended on Nov 24,2023. After seven days, Israeli military attacked in Khan Yonis which is the largest city in Gaza saying that there were Hamas militants. Since Oct 2023,85% Gazan’s (two million) have fled from their homes.
In the mid of March, IDF launched two-week long attack on Al-Shifa hospital which is the largest hospital in Gaza again claiming the presence of Hamas militants and arguing their control the hospital. UN called an immediate administrative investigation on this grave violation of human rights. Israel who is powerful with the arms given by U.S, Israel is also attacking Iran and Syria.
If we do a comparison between Israel and Palestine resources, we come to know that Israel is wealthy in resources. As if we talk about Gaza, Gaza is not as such wealthy in fuel, water, food supplies and aid. The aid agencies and government of different countries have tried to send aid for Palestinians multiple times, but Israel didn’t allow them to enter. On April 1,2023 Israel killed the Seven World Kitchen workers who were heading towards Southern city after giving food aid in Northern Gaza.
US always wanted to build good relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. But after Oct 7,2023 genocide on Palestine, Saudi Arabia has been concerned about the safety of Palestinians who are living in Gaza and West Bank. Saudi has talked about the security and rights of Palestinians who are under operation of Israel Defense Force (IDF).
Iran who has well-established relationship with different militants’ groups in Middle East, America says that there is no as such evidence that Iran helped Hamas to attack on Israel Oct 7, 2023. Other Middle East countries have also been showing their support towards Palestinian.
- Lebanon’s Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
- Yemen Houthi’s launched their missiles and rockets on the Western ships in the Red Sea.
- Iran showed their support by targeting missiles in Israel.
International Community can help Palestinians by providing emergency assistance and medical care and strengthening the health care system. Those Palestinian who has been traumatised by ongoing genocide International Community can help them by providing psychological support. As Palestinian are facing water shortage so they can take action by improving access to clean water. International Community can help by addressing environmental concerns such as pollution, so that Gaza’s natural resources can be protected. International Community should help them to rebuild damaged infrastructure and provide protection to refuges. International Community can help Palestinians by spreading awareness in the world about the ongoing genocide on Palestinian through cultural events, debates, educational programs, community service events, conferences, meetings, international events and seminars. We should have to respect the dignity of the people of Palestine and prioritise their needs.
