Oshkosh Defense Europe B.V., in collaboration with Oshkosh Defense, LLC, has been awarded a contract by the Netherlands Ministry of Defence to produce 150 Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPV), a highly advanced variant of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). These vehicles are being procured under the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps’ Future Littoral All Terrain Mobility – Patrol Vehicle (FLATM-PV) program.
The DXPV has been specifically tailored to meet the operational demands of the Netherlands’ marine forces, offering a combination of superior off-road mobility, tactical speed, and enhanced interoperability within NATO forces. The vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the Dutch Marines’ capability to operate in diverse and challenging environments, especially littoral zones and amphibious terrain.
“Oshkosh is honored that the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps has chosen to equip its formations with the Oshkosh DXPV,” said Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer, Oshkosh Defense. “This selection is a testament to the vehicle’s performance, reliability, and versatility in modern military operations.”
According to Oshkosh Defense, the DXPV shares a high degree of commonality with over 22,000 JLTVs delivered to the U.S. Department of Defense and more than 1,600 units fielded or on order for other NATO and allied nations. This compatibility allows the Netherlands to leverage existing global logistics networks, training programs, and supply chains—enhancing operational readiness, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.
“The commonality of the DXPV with current JLTV fleets significantly reduces the logistical footprint, ensures exceptional system performance, and maximizes mission effectiveness,” Williams added. “It enables seamless integration and support, streamlining operations across allied forces.”
This strategic acquisition aligns with the Netherlands’ broader defense modernization initiatives and strengthens NATO’s collective mobility and response capability in joint expeditionary operations.
