A contingent comprising F-16 Block-52 combat jets assigned to No. 5 Squadron (Pakistan Air Force – PAF) arrived at Turkiye to take part in Anatolian Eagle 2023-2 multinational aerial exercises. International Anatolian Eagle-2023 Exercise will be held in 3rd Main Jet Base, Konya between 02 May-12 May 2023.
PAF’s No. 5 Squadron is part of the Jacobabad-based 39th tactical wing and Southern Air Command. This squadron is the 2nd oldest squadron of the Pakistan Air Force and saw combat during both Indo-Pak wars.
Apart from Pakistan Air Force, the following air forces are also participating in this year’s Anatolian Eagle exercise.
- Qatari Emiri Air Force (Eurofighter Typhoon)
- Azerbaijan Air Force (Su-25)
- United Arab Emirates Air Force (F-16 Block-60)
- Royal Saudi Air Force (F-15SA)
- Royal Air Force (Eurofighter Typhoon)
Through a variety of tactics and procedures used in a genuine combat setting, Anatolian Eagle aims to enhance the capacities of mutual support amongst forces.
