Finnish defence manufacturer Patria and its Polish production partner Rosomak S.A. have signed an extension to their manufacturing licence agreement for 8×8 armoured vehicles, securing long-term industrial cooperation until 2034.
The renewed licence ensures a stable production framework for the Rosomak 8×8 programme, guarantees continued technology transfer, and reinforces Poland’s defence industrial base at a crucial time for European security.
According to the companies, the agreement will:

Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area, said the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to building long-term defence cooperation with Poland.
He emphasised that EU and NATO members benefit strategically from interoperable platforms, adding that Patria AMV systems are already in widespread service across Europe, including Poland, Sweden, Finland, Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
“The ongoing collaboration on 8×8 vehicles between the two countries represents an ideal approach to achieve this, thereby fortifying the defence relationship between the two countries,” he said.
Strengthening Poland’s Defence Industry
Patria has played a central role in Poland’s protected mobility development since 2003, acting as a trusted technology supplier to Rosomak S.A. Under the licence, vehicles are manufactured domestically in Poland, integrating local production capability with Finnish defence engineering expertise.
The extension provides Rosomak S.A. with more autonomy and flexibility in vehicle upgrades and new system development, supporting evolving operational requirements and export opportunities.
