Patria has delivered the first 6×6 armoured vehicles to Denmark as part of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, marking a key milestone in the multinational initiative. The delivery also launches the related training programme for Danish forces.
Denmark officially joined the CAVS programme in July 2025, finalizing its commitment with an order for 129 Patria 6×6 vehicles. Manufactured in Finland, the next batches of vehicles are scheduled for delivery throughout 2025.
Multinational Cooperation at Work
Mats Warstedt, Vice President Nordics at Patria, highlighted the speed of the delivery as proof of the programme’s efficiency.
“The excellent cooperation between member nations and Patria enabled the very quick first delivery—only two months from the initial order. This is undeniable proof of the efficiency of utilizing a common vehicle platform between allies,” he stated.
The CAVS programme showcases the benefits of multinational defence collaboration, enabling participating nations to achieve cost-efficiency, interoperability, and stronger security of supply through shared platforms.
Proven Expertise and Large-Scale Production
With over four decades of experience in troop transportation and system integration, Patria leads the development of the 6×6 armoured vehicle system as the prime contractor within the CAVS programme.
So far, nearly 1,000 Patria 6×6 vehicles have been ordered across member states, with over 250 vehicles already delivered. Importantly, production leverages the local industry capabilities of participating nations, ensuring both industrial participation and long-term sustainability.
