Patria Rheinmetall Partnership Advances Hungarian Programme

Patria and Rheinmetall have further deepened their industrial cooperation through a strategic supply agreement supporting the Patria Rheinmetall Hungarian programme. The agreement, signed with Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Hungary, covers the delivery of at least 24 Patria NEMO 120mm mortar systems for integration into a new variant of the Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle.

The Patria Rheinmetall Hungarian programme forms a core part of Hungary’s broader ZRINYI Defence and Armed Forces Development Programme. Through this latest milestone, both companies reaffirm their commitment to equipping the Hungarian Defence Forces with advanced fire support systems tailored to modern battlefield requirements.

Patria NEMO is a turreted, remote-controlled 120mm mortar system featuring fully automated fire control and a semi-automatic loading mechanism. It delivers both direct and indirect fire with precision and speed, ensuring mobile, protected, and highly responsive firepower in diverse operational environments.

Rheinmetall completed a successful trial integration of the NEMO system into the Lynx KF41 platform in September 2024. Testing validated the system’s full technical compatibility and confirmed that it can be seamlessly incorporated into the vehicle, expanding its mission versatility and firepower.

The Patria Rheinmetall Hungarian programme underscores a broader trend of strategic European defence collaboration, with both firms delivering scalable, future-proof capabilities that enhance operational readiness and national defence resilience.
