Russian Emperor Alexander III Submarine Test Fires Bulava Ballistic Missile 

Russia’s new nuclear-powered submarine “Emperor Alexander III” test-fired a Bulava ballistic missile from the White Sea. This was the last test for Emperor Alexander III and a decision will now be made on whether to accept the ship into the Navy, the Russian MoD said.

The “Emperor Alexander III” is a Russian Borei-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine and was launched on 29 December 2022. This submarine is equipped with sixteen (16) Bulava missile launchers.

Bulava ballistic missile (American designation: SS-N-32) is a submarine-launched ballistic missile capable of carrying six (6) warheads and was deployed on Russian Borei-class submarines in 2014. With a length of 12 meters and a diameter of 2 meters, this ballistic missile has a range of more than 8000 kilometers.

The nuclear-powered submarine “Generalissimus Suvorov” also launched a Bulava ballistic missile on 3rd November 2023.
