Sri Lankan Navy Ship Vijayabahu to Participate in AMAN 2025 Exercise

Sri Lankan Navy Ship (SLNS) Vijayabahu is set to participate in the 9th Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN 2025, hosted by the Pakistan Navy from 7–11 February 2025 in Karachi. The event will bring together naval forces, special operations teams, and observers from over 60 countries under the theme “Together for Peace.”

SLNS Vijayabahu’s participation signifies Sri Lanka’s commitment to fostering regional maritime collaboration and addressing shared challenges in the Indian Ocean Region. The vessel will take part in various activities, including the Harbour Phase (seminars, operational discussions, and international gatherings) and the Sea Phase (anti-piracy drills, counterterrorism operations, and tactical maneuvers).

SLNS Vijayabahu (P627) is an Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel (AOPV) of the Sri Lanka Navy. It previously served in the United States Coast Guard as USCGC Douglas Munro (WHEC-724) and later as USCGC Munro (WHEC-724), a High Endurance Cutter.
