Terma and Boeing Sign MoU on P-8 Maintenance in Denmark

Russia Launches Biggest Drone and Missile Strike on Ukraine in 2025

Terma and Boeing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation on P-8 maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) in Denmark. The announcement was made during the DALO Industry Days event, highlighting growing industrial collaboration to support national defense readiness.

The agreement signals an effort to prepare Denmark for potential adoption of the Boeing P-8 maritime patrol aircraft. If selected, a local MRO capability would provide the Danish Armed Forces with faster and more secure support for fleet operations.

Supporting Denmark’s Defense Objectives

The collaboration aims to strengthen Denmark’s defense support infrastructure. By developing MRO services locally, the companies intend to ensure higher operational availability for the P-8 while creating long-term industrial benefits.

Thomas Flarup, Chief Commercial Officer at Terma, said:
“This agreement marks an important step in our ambition to strengthen Denmark’s position in critical sustainment capabilities. We believe that robust MRO infrastructure is essential to ensuring operational availability of key assets such as the P-8.”

Flarup added that if the Danish Defense selects the P-8, Terma and Boeing would be ready to provide the necessary support structure.

Building on a Long Partnership

Terma has been a supplier to Boeing’s P-8 program for more than a decade. The partnership includes projects such as the Harpoon Missile Simulator, which provides realistic training for advanced missile systems.

Maria Laine, president of Boeing United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Nordics, emphasized the significance of the new agreement:
“In the face of global challenges, this MoU fortifies our shared vision for a stronger, more capable defense industrial base, and we are proud to stand beside Denmark’s largest defense company to deliver enhanced sovereign fleet support if Denmark selects the P-8.”

Looking Ahead

While Denmark has not yet made a decision on acquiring the P-8, the MoU reflects a proactive approach to ensuring readiness. For both companies, the agreement represents a commitment to expanding cooperation and strengthening Denmark’s defense ecosystem through local expertise and industrial collaboration.
