GÖKSUR Naval Point Defense Missile System

ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense company, has successfully conducted the first test launch of the GÖKSUR Naval Point Defense Missile System, marking a major milestone in the country’s naval defense capabilities. The test reinforces Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening its maritime security and developing advanced indigenous defense technologies.

GÖKSUR Naval Point Defense Missile System is a key component of Türkiye’s Steel Dome, a layered air defense system designed to protect naval assets from anti-ship and cruise missiles, aerial threats, and rotary/fixed-wing aircraft. Developed in collaboration with TÜBİTAK SAGE, GÖKSUR features the GÖKSUR IIR missile, known for its high-performance capabilities and bi-directional data link communication.

The system’s modular architecture allows for seamless integration into various naval platforms, including frigates and corvettes, enhancing the Turkish Navy’s operational flexibility. Notably, GÖKSUR drew international attention at EURONAVAL 2024 in Paris, where its multiple configurations—including the GÖKSUR 100-N VLS, the stand-alone turret-based GÖKSUR 100-N/StA, and the 20-missile GÖKSUR 100-N variant—were showcased.

Key Features of GÖKSUR:

  • 360-degree threat engagement
  • Infrared seeker-guided munitions
  • Multi-target engagement capability
  • High effectiveness against low-flying threats
  • AI-supported fire control system

With real-time data link communication and mid-course guidance, GÖKSUR significantly enhances Türkiye’s ability to counter modern naval threats. The successful test launch represents a pivotal step toward integrating this cutting-edge system into the Turkish Navy, ensuring superior defense capabilities for the nation’s maritime interests.
