The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a $720 million contract for the production of Joint Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGM) and HELLFIRE missiles. This marks the fourth and final follow-on award under the Army’s current multi-year procurement program.
The agreement ensures critical procurement and production support for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and international customers, further strengthening Lockheed Martin’s position as a global leader in multi-domain missile systems.
Key Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
As part of the contract, Lockheed Martin will deliver missiles to both U.S. forces and international partners under Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Highlights include:
-
United Kingdom: 160 JAGM missiles
-
Poland, Spain, Czech Republic, and Italy: HELLFIRE missile orders
-
Canada: Added as a new HELLFIRE customer
These deliveries are designed to meet urgent operational requirements and enhance the deterrence and combat capabilities of U.S. allies.
Strategic Importance of JAGM and HELLFIRE Missiles
The JAGM missile provides precision strike capability against high-value targets in all weather conditions, while the HELLFIRE missile remains a proven asset in air-to-ground combat. Together, they are essential for modern battlefield operations across land, sea, and air domains.
This contract will support both domestic defense readiness and the collective security of NATO allies.
Lockheed Martin’s Statement
Casey Walsh, Program Management Director of Multi-Domain Missile Systems at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, emphasized the importance of the award:
“This contract is a significant milestone in our ongoing partnership with the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and our international allies, and we’re proud to continue playing a vital role in their defense strategies. As we continue to evolve our deterrence capabilities, we remain committed to supporting the military’s critical missions and helping to protect those who serve, both at home and abroad.”
