Lt Cdr Syed Muhammad Arsalan of Pakistan Navy Receives Golden Owl Award at Sri Lanka's Defence Services Command and Staff College Graduation Ceremony

Lieutenant Commander Syed Muhammad Arsalan of the Pakistan Navy was awarded the prestigious Golden Owl Award for being the Most Outstanding Foreign Naval Officer during the Graduation Ceremony of Course No. 18 at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The award ceremony took place on 12 December 2024 at the distinguished Nelum Pokuna Theatre, a key venue for military and national events in Sri Lanka.

The Golden Owl Award is a highly esteemed recognition for excellence in leadership, academic performance, and professional development. Lt Cdr Arsalan’s dedication, exemplary performance, and commitment to the values of military professionalism earned him this distinction among a diverse group of international participants.

The event was graced by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Sri Lanka, who served as the Chief Guest for the ceremony. In his remarks, the Deputy Minister commended the graduates for their hard work and perseverance throughout the course. He highlighted the importance of fostering international cooperation in military education and the role such initiatives play in enhancing regional security and stability.

A total of 25 foreign officers from 12 countries participated in Course No. 18, reflecting the multinational scope and collaborative nature of the program. The course is known for its rigorous academic structure and is designed to prepare officers for senior leadership roles in their respective armed forces.

Lt Cdr Arsalan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to study at the DSCSC and for the invaluable exchange of knowledge and experience with fellow military officers from around the world. He credited the supportive academic environment and the spirit of camaraderie among participants for contributing to his success.

The Defence Services Command and Staff College in Sri Lanka is internationally recognized for its comprehensive professional military education programs, aimed at developing the strategic and leadership capabilities of officers.
