Republic of Korea Army Hosts First International User Training for Chunmoo MRL System

The Republic of Korea Army has recently conducted its first international user training program for the K239 Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher (MRL) System, specifically designed for the Polish Armed Forces, who operate its localized variant, the Homar-K.

A total of 16 Polish military personnel participated in the training, which focused on boosting their practical operational readiness and tactical deployment skills. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral defense ties and underscores Korea’s commitment to long-term capability building for its defense partners.

A Model Built on K9 Success

This training model is inspired by the success of the K9 User Club, an international support network for operators of the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer, now active in 10 countries. The user club provides logistical support, knowledge sharing, and ongoing training, ensuring consistent operational performance across all partner nations.

“Our responsibility extends beyond the point of sale,” stated Hanwha Aerospace, the system’s developer. “The success of the K9 User Club has laid the foundation for similar initiatives aimed at the Chunmoo system.”

Strengthening Global Defense Capabilities

Following the success of the ROK Army’s training program, Hanwha Aerospace has reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a global support ecosystem for the Chunmoo system. This includes the development of continuous training modules, technical support networks, and joint user communities for all Chunmoo-operating nations.

With these efforts, Hanwha Aerospace aims to ensure that the Chunmoo MRL system remains a strategic, high-performance asset for its international partners, contributing directly to the enhancement of their defense capabilities on the global stage.
